About Matt

Matt Thorsen and his wife, Alisha, reside in Melissa, Texas, where they’ve been married for 25 years and raised two sons, Matthew and Noah.
Before entering small business ownership, Matt spent over 12 years in the aerospace industry, where he held a high-level security clearance and gained firsthand experience in leadership, precision, and accountability. In 2012, Matt transitioned into entrepreneurship, which led to the founding and building of The Dallas Shutter Company in 2017 — a family-owned business specializing in premium, U.S.-made shutters, shades, and blinds.
Over the past two decades, Matt has also served as a youth minister and coached football and wrestling, mentoring young people both in faith and personal growth. That lifelong calling to serve others inspired him to get involved in grassroots conservative politics, where he has served in leadership positions within the Collin County Republican Party.
Through these experiences, Matt saw firsthand how Texans are being underrepresented by their current state leadership. After much prayer and thoughtful consideration, Matt decided to run for State Representative for Texas House District 67 to restore authentic, conservative representation in Collin County.
Matt Thorsen stands as a grassroots, small-business, family-focused conservative who understands the challenges everyday Texans face — from running a business and raising a family to serving the community.
“It’s time to bring true conservative values back to Texas and give a voice to the people of House District 67.”
